About the role:
We are looking for a product and data manager with a strong analytical background and a passion for data science and visualization to manage all data related and product review projects within the Mdundo organization. The manager will be reporting to the CEO and work closely with the senior management, the aim of the role is
(1) to ensure Mdundo utilize data within the organization and
(2) to support the development of the Mdundo service.
Examples of project could include;
Create a dashboard for internal and external use
End-to-end product management of the Mdundo Brandlift toolkit based on inputs from the Mdundo For Brands team.
Research of features in competing music services that might be interesting for Mdundo to consider.
Research alternative ways for Mdundo users to pay, log in and receive communication from Mdundo.
Analyse the performance of current Mdundo features.
Prepare product road map for discussion.
Use Mdundo data to create engaging and educational videos
Oversee Mdundo support-websites such as mdundoforfans.com, mdundoforbrands.com, mdundoforartists.com and mdundoforinvestors.com.
Mdundo has a strong and well-performing product, all product decisions are highly data-driven and follow a tight roadmap with limited wriggle room. The objective is to incrementally improve the performance of the product not to introduce major changes. The creative part of this role will mostly involve in-house projects or “stand-alone projects” supporting the Mdundo organization.
Responsibilities
Managing and presenting data to Mdundo team and management for better decision making.
Reviewing and analyzing the performance of the Mdundo music service and preparing the product roadmap.
Overseeing mdundoforfans.com, mdundoforbrands.com, mdundoforartists.com and mdundoforinvestors.com.
Designing and implementing data-based tools like the Mdundo Brandlift Toolkit and Mdundo Music Insights Toolkit for internal and external use.
In-house data specialist and data scientist assisting with data-related enquiries across the organization.
Reporting to the CEO.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in data and / or product development.
Extensive understanding of data analysis, data visualization and data science.
Basic knowledge of database management and database enquiries.
Passion for data, data science and product development.
Passion for African music and the music industry.
