Our Client is a well established, profitable and rapidly expanding Design and Manufacturer of high-quality mattresses and linen products. They have an enviable reputation for Product design and quality and currently have a dealer network across Kenya.
As a production manager, you'll make plan, coordinate and control manufacturing processes so that products are delivered on time and within budget.
You will also make sure products are produced safely, cost effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.
Key Roles:
• Achieve production and operational objectives working closely with the MD.
• Closely manage the supply chain to ensure a smooth flow of product through the factory
• You'll be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage.
• You’ll oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations.
• You will plan and draw up a production schedule
• Decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
• Set the quality standards select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance
• Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers
• Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
• Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes
• Organise the repair of any damaged equipment
• Ensure that strict health and safety rules and environmental policies are followed at all times.
• Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
• Collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and customers
• Supervise and motivate a team of workers, review worker performance and identify training needs.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
The successful Manufacturing Manager will;
• Must have Kaizen/ Process improvement knowledge and practical experience.
• Have gained their experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally in mattresses manufacturing or related sector.
• Be an excellent people manager who enjoys maximizing team potential.
• Be a hands-on problem solver with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Be process driven and will introduce standardization across the facility wherever possible.
• Be able to run and monitor the production process through excellent planning and organization
• Be able to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problems
• the capacity to grasp complex concepts easily
• Be able to work with various technologies and programmes
• Be able to work in a logical, systematic manner.
