Essential Functions
Establishes objectives of all the organization's quality control functions in accordance with organization's objectives.
Manages, plans, coordinates, and heads the quality assurance program designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards.
Plans, develops, and implements methods, policies, and procedures formulated as standard work/standard operating procedure.
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs.
Oversees the development and analysis of statistical data and specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy.
Directs activities related to quality control including strategies, staffing, scheduling, coordinating, quality
Works closely with customer service and sales teams to understand, investigate and resolve customer related complaints regarding quality. Develops understanding of quality expectations relating to company's industry and market segments
Collects, gathers, and interprets quality data, takes appropriate action to drive performance improvement.
Analyzes conformance to standards related to quality specifications and leads problem solving activities using root cause analysis tools.
Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
Confers with and coordinates activities supporting Engineering requested quality assurance related to initial receipts, manufactured/assembled products and identified problematic components & assemblies
Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality and vendor quality standards, provides supplier feedback information related to quality performance.
Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability.
Recruits, hires, trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action. Manages workers engaged in activities to ensure quality control over materials, products, and processes.
Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices.
Ensures all areas of organization meet or exceed quality assurance standards.
Develops, promotes, and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability.
Qualifications
Customer first focus
Corporate or enterprise wide vision for quality
Working knowledge of Lean
Strong technical background
Experience developing quality control processes
Minimum 10 years quality experience with at least 5 years quality leadership role in manufacturing
