NRC in the East Africa & Yemen region is looking for a Regional Resilience Adviser to provide overall technical and strategic support to consortiums that are working in the East Africa region on resilience, with a strong focus on strengthening existing consortia, such as the Building Resilient Communities in Somalia (BRCiS) Consortium. The role will help to ensure that NRC as the lead agency for BRCiS, meets its resilience-building objectives, provides key learnings externally, and maintains a strong reputation for quality programming.
The position is based in the East Africa & Yemen Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya, with 50% travel to Somalia. The role reports into the EA&Y Regional Programme Director, and works closely with the Chief of Party for BRCiS.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic advice and technical support to CMUs on relevant resilience, adaptation and learning
Support the development of resilience consortia core competence strategies and implementation plans
Support and monitor resilience programme compliance with the Programme Policy and respective quality assurances
Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, tools and new approaches, with a focus on innovation and piloting in a way that ensures the consortia challenge themselves and finds ever greater return on investment
Ensure that best practices are identified, documented and disseminated both within country, region and beyond
Build and develop the capacity of NRC staff who are working on resilience
Identify and develop regional advocacy issues related to the core competence and relevant cross cutting issues
Contribute to programme development projects
Build relationships with key stakeholders at a strategic level and represent NRC in policy and coordination fora at regional and global level and engage in fundraising
Networking and representation, Support the consortium with representation at high level events on resilience with government and donors.
