Our client is a non-governmental organization leading in Programme Cycle Management accompaniment and coaching services to the funded partners of Fastenopfer in Kenya. They are looking to hire a Research Consultant to spearhead research efforts across several Kenyan counties.

Contract Duration 2-3 Months
Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate and execute assigned research projects.
• Supervise team members on daily basis to complete research projects within deadlines.
• Track project progress periodically and report the same to management.
• Identify areas of improvements and develop new methodologies to meet milestones.
• Present research findings to management in an understandable manner.
• Work with management in preparation of project budget and schedule.
• Monitor and control expenses within allotted budget.
• Follow and enforce state and federal regulations.
• Interact with accounting department in processing payments and approving grants.
• Stay abreast with latest developments in research tools and techniques.
• Analyze and resolve research issues promptly and accurately.
• Perform cost negotiation and finance and schedule management activities.
• Coordinate with management in determining research priorities and developing research roadmap.
• Identify key challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
• Ensure that research deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.

Requirements
1. Bachelors Degree in Social sciences, Community Development or related studies
2. Masters Degree is an added advantage
3. 7 years experience spearheading research and data collections for donor funded projects
4. Experience working in a development research organization or other institution undertaking research, monitoring and/or impact assessment.
5. Strong organisational skills, with a high degree of cultural sensitivity and creative ability to navigate unforeseen complexities
6. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with interdisciplinary colleagues and external stakeholders and partners, across a multicultural professional environment
7. Good leadership skills, assertiveness, ability to take initiative and work within deadlines
8. Ability to work effectively on both independent research assignments and as part of a team
9. Sound judgement and decision-making skills, including proactive problem-solving
