A leading Micro-Finance Company based in Nairobi that offers personal loan to permanently employed Civil servants is seeking to recruit a Senior Collections Manager To manage teams involved in the collection functions using all payment collection mechanisms including payroll deductions, Direct Debits, M-Pesa, Cheque Payments, External Debt Collectors and E-commerce Platform. The ideal candidate Must have excellent analytical skills and have experience working in the Financial Service Sector.
Qualifications:
Relevant bachelor’s Degree.
Must have experience in the Financial Sector Operations.
Must have a minimum of 10 years working experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Strong background in reconciliation and analysis of data.
Sound knowledge of existing payment and collections products in the local market.
Proven record of working with relevant payment and collection systems.
Must be highly analytical with a high level of drive, energy and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to function across different cultures.
Strong people management & communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Manage teams involved in the collection functions using all payment collection mechanisms including payroll deductions, Direct Debits, Mpesa, Cheque Payments, External Debt Collectors and E-commerce Platforms.
Be the Liaison officer between third-party stakeholders in facilitating of electronic channel collections including Commercial Banks, Telcos, aggregators and regulators.
Responsible for the innovation and implementation of efficient electronic channels to aid collections.
Identify new opportunities and market capabilities to enhance collections at the lowest cost possible.
Ensure reconciliations and receipting for off-payroll electronic collections is timely, complete and up to date.
Work as a liaison with group collections, group operations and local finance team to ensure optimal monthly collections through all channels.
Effective contribution towards the reduction of arrears on all Company’s Product Offerings by offering and implementing alternative collection channels for the business.
Effective contribution towards the use of alternative collections channels in increasing Company product offering outside the payroll business as well as maximising opportunities to strengthen payroll collections.
Management of collection channels to contribute to the following key requirements.
Make electronic collections channel a competitive advantage to the business, supporting the business strategy and responding to business needs.
Build and manage Key relationships with various Governmental departments, Digital Financial Service Providers and Commercial Banks.
Ensure that reconciliations on the collections channels are up to date.
Ensure data protection and integrity of customer information originated or utilized by the unit.
Continually mitigate the risk of fraud on the platforms through adequate training, frequent review of controls and process flows and adequate separation of duties.
Ensure regular and accurate reporting to all relevant parties on successes as well as challenges experienced pertaining to the collections processes.
