JOB DESCRIPTION
Altai Consulting is recruiting a full-time
quantitative analyst
to join its dynamic team in Nairobi. Through this role, we aim to improve how we design and monitor surveys, how we analyze our data, and how we present quantitative findings in our reports. The quantitative analyst will report to the Country Manager but will support Altai’s team of Project Managers.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing survey tools and coding surveys using software e.g. SurveyCTO, SurveySolutions, KoBo.
- Developing standardized question sets for surveys;
- Designing survey sampling methodologies;
- Developing survey monitoring systems for high-frequency checks.
- Conducting quantitative analyses of survey data, including sample weighting, generation of descriptive and inferential statistics, regression analyses, etc.
- Developing standardized analysis scripts;
- Presenting quantitative data in meaningful ways through charts, maps, and infographics;
- Drafting quantitative analysis sections of reports;
- Training junior staff on quantitative analytical processes;
- Supporting presentations of data to clients.
This position will be contracted through Altai Consulting’s Kenyan subsidiary, Lhassa Consulting EA.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced University degree in statistics, econometrics, or a related field;
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience conducting quantitative analysis.
- Fluency in English;
- Fluency in STATA.
- Fluency in ODK coding;
- Ability to write reports to an excellent standard;
- Experience and a keen interest in the development sector;
- Independent and resourceful.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Fluency in other key quantitative analysis software/languages, including SPSS, R, Python;
- Knowledge of QGIS, databases, and data presentation tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau);
- Fluency in Somali or Arabic.
