For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) or its' equivalent qualification; andDiploma in any of the following discipline: Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Anthropology, Counselling or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis will be the entry grade for Diploma holders. At this level, an officer will be deployed in the Alms House and Njoro OVC and any other related social centre.Duties and responsibilities will involve:Disability mainstreaming and empowermentCommunity capacity building on formation of social groupsRescue and care of vulnerable elderly personsRescue and rehabilitation of street childrenManagement of social halls,Inspection and regulation of day care centresAny other duty related to social services
