Saint Joseph the Worker Development Programmes was established the same year with
the aim of managing and coordinating the various development programmes that
Jesuits implement in Kangemi. These programmes seek to promote a society free
from all forms of discrimination, in which everyone have the opportunity to
develop their full potential. Over the years, the Development Programmes has
striven to accompany the empowerment processes of the most vulnerable and
impoverished persons and communities, survivors of Gender Based Violence,
People Living with HIV/AIDs within
Kangemi location.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position reports
to the Programme Coordinator and works with the respective team leads and is
responsible for ensuring the effective placement of students and beneficiaries
in Uzima Programme and St. Joseph Technical Secondary School.
He/she will also focus
on Identification of young women and girls for G.B.V
services in collaboration with project staff and Community Health Volunteers

Responsibilities: Social Worker and SGBV Counsellor:

Identification
of young women and girls for G.B.V services in collaboration with project staff
and Community Health Volunteers.
In
collaboration with the (CHEWs) Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs)
actively monitor and supervise Community Health Workers performance
and compliance required standards.
Admit
new clients targeted by the project, conduct home visits as well as follow ups
Collect relevant data from
the health facilities and compile data collected by Community Health
Volunteers (CHV)
Lead
the community resource mapping exercise
Participate
in identification of training curriculum for Community Health Volunteers
Prepare timely, monthly, quarterly and project from
area of coverage and submit on a timely basis to Project team lead/project
assistant to aid in preparation of the
main project report.
Organize
awareness meetings/forums for the project
Maintain
documentation and confidentiality of GBV cases
Organize
community sensitization outreaches on G.B.V related issues
Participate
in psychosocial support to project beneficiaries (one on one counselling,
trauma counselling, group counselling)
Any
other duty as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Other
duties:

Support
M&E Officer to gather data on a weekly, monthly and quarterly to ensure
timely preparation of the field work reports
Participate
in brainstorming process on proposals to enhance resource mobilization
Participate
in trainings and forums on women empowerment
Requisition
of nutritional supplements and their distribution
Any
other duties assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor
of Arts/Social Sciences
Strong
organizational and interpersonal skills;
Fluent
in oral and written English and excellent writing skills;
Fluent
in Kiswahili
Ability
to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
At
leastTWO YEARSof relevant
experience
