Software Developer - Drive At Zep-Re Insurance

Specific tasks include:
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms, and web applications and handling both front-end and back-end development tasks
Contribute to activities centered on digital technologies for the development of financial delivery systems and linkage with pastoral livestock production, including exploring opportunities for connection with markets.
Work with multiple IT, Business clients, and vendor contractors in a multi-vendor and multi-geographical environment to support and maintain Drive Project operations applications.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics.
Use data analysis tools (SQL, Power BI, R, Python, Excel) to create customized dashboards and reports.
Manage application configuration and upgrades, issue analysis and resolution, and implement the necessary changes to keep the application supporting the business functions as required.
Understand business applications functionality resolve issues and improve application functionality and performance.
Maintain records and documentation for all enhancements and provide support for internal and external auditors.
Participate in project deliverables design, implementation support, and evaluation.
Contribute to the overall delivery of project results.

Deliverables
Expected output includes, but is not limited to:
Development of in-house software applications on time and within budget.
Management of outsourced software developers and solution integration
Acquisition of appropriate software applications as needed for the project.
Applications implemented in the target countries.
Support of users and resolution of issues within performance targets
Assignment Management, Reporting Requirements and Payment
The consultant will work in close coordination with the World Bank HoA DRIVE team and the ZEP-RE project team and provide regular updates as required.
The consultant shall be based in Nairobi and report to the Digital Solutions Manager.
The total duration of the consultancy will be a maximum of 1 year from the start date of the assignment and may be extended for the duration of implementation of the proposed Project, based on the annual work evaluation and subject to satisfactory performance of the consultant.

Requirements
Candidates should meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
A minimum of 3 years' experience in the Software Development field
IT professional qualifications
Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong portfolio of released applications on the App Store, Google Play, or web platforms.
Demonstrated experience in undertaking digital solutions with practical application of the solutions to the agriculture sector,
Some experience preferably in an insurance/ reinsurance company is an asset.
