The Metis team is looking for a creative and energetic Storytelling Intern for a start-up education ecosystem building organization in Nairobi, Kenya.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Storytelling Intern will help set and guide the strategy for all communications, external relations, events and media efforts that consistently articulate Metis’ mission and vision. They will co-create and lead the strategy and implementation of Metis’ brand and strategic partnerships, as well as widely share stories of the impact of our Fellows and organization
Responsibilities
? Build the Movement: Through stories of all kinds (written, visual, audiovisual, etc) build broad public investment in and support of education innovation and reform in Kenya. You will create content to ensure diverse stakeholders across the globe understand our work and its impact. This includes conceptualizing and executing posts that will increase brand awareness and boost engagement. You will come up with a content calendar. This includes monthly newsletters, blogs, periodic donor reports, and annual reports. Ensure the proper data is collected from Fellows and alum with support from Monitoring and Evaluation leads and Executive Director.
? Communicate Impact: Develop an annual communications and marketing plan that engages diverse audience segments and lead to measurable action; collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to write reports to our investors on the social returns of their investments in our Fellows.
? Social media community management to streamline all social media accounts and ensure uniform content across Metis platforms on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Youtube, ensuring clear communication of the brand position. Increase social media following and engagement across all platforms by creating regular (at least twice weekly) posts and swift response to all comments and direct messages. Establish and uphold community guidelines on all social media platforms and work with the Metis team/volunteers to create and implement social media campaigns.
? Monitor social media analytics to help us better understand our audience, create better content and improve our marketing strategy.
