As the Strategic Partnerships Senior Associate - East Africa, you will manage the end-to-end activities to acquire new and maintain existing banking and FinTech relationships to achieve the launch, scale and improvement of corridor and channel performance.

Support in New bank / FinTech / Telco outreach - this is to research, prioritise, originate and close banking partnerships, working closely with the Strategic Partnerships Manager - Africa & Middle East.
Support in Existing bank / FinTech relationship by maintaining and nurturing effective working relationships with our network partners to result in stable & sustainable relationships
Support in new market entry, Identify, outreach, prioritize, and manage onboarding with new potential partners, which includes some of the largest banks, technology companies and payment service providers in the world
Work closely with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. direct sales, product / tech integration, treasury ops, finance, regulatory/compliance teams)
Monitor and improve the performance of existing corridors by working closely with internal teams to determine the root cause of issues, suggest optimal solutions, prioritize them and execute
Manage, monitor and report team operational efficiency where required
Deeply understand the sub-region and share market insights internally
Requirements
Must love and be able to solve problems
Have 3 to 5 years' experience in creating and nurturing partnerships
Ability to build and manage internal & external relationships – originating, developing and maintaining relationships globally (in person & remote)
Have existing networks and contacts in the financial industry within East Africa
Excellent time and project management skills are a must
Strong verbal / written communication skills
Commitment to constant and never-ending improvement
Ability to independently research and analyse data, investigate and prioritise business, product, customer and market requirements
Ability to effectively challenge and clarify process and bureaucracy to reduce ambiguity and achieve goals quickly
Source and analyse data to measure and improve performance
Keen interest to understand technical integration to be able to work alongside product managers to improve corridor performance
Ability to work in a multicultural distributed team and across functions to deliver the most value to our customers and the business
Geographical experience across the East, Southern & North Africa, and the Middle East will be beneficial
Willingness to travel internationally (10% of the time)
Languages: English is a must and others will be a huge plus (especially Swahili, French and Arabic)
