Job Description
Duties and responsibilities.
• Write clear marketing copy to promote our brand of magazine, newsletters, website & brochure.
• Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization.
• Proofread and edit blog posts and emailers before publication.
• Create copy for online and offline platforms and channels.
• Update website content as and when needed.
• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone)
• Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams.
• Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic on social media campaigns and social platforms.
• Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Lead for input and approval.
• Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics.
• Create copy for online and offline platforms and channels.
• Promote content on social media.
• Update website content as and when needed.
Skills:
• Proven work experience as a Sub-Editor.
• Proven Portfolio of published articles.
• Experience doing research using multiple sources.
• Familiarity with web publications.
• Familiarity with social media platforms.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
• Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress )
• Ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
• 2 years of experience as a content Editor or similar role.
• Good understanding of social media KPIs.
• Social Media Strategist using social media for brand awareness and impressions.
• Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices.
• Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics.
• Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research.
• Familiarity with web design and publishing.
• Excellent multitasking skills.
• Great leadership skills and Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
• Team player and Good time-management skills.
• Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• BSc degree or Diploma in journalism, Communication or equivalent.
