Details of the offer

The Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer will be responsible to effectively manage and lead the Supply Chain monitoring and reporting. The incumbent provides advice to the Chiefs of Unit/Section within UNSOS on matter related to end-to-end Supply Chain performance management.Within delegated authority, the Supply Chain Business Intelligence Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to the Chiefs of Unit/Section within UNSOS and other stakeholders on all issues related to leveraging data and business intelligence to the assessment, planning, monitoring, management and the continuous improvement of the performance of the end-to-end Supply Chain in the Mission. Develop and organize the Business Intelligence capabilities and capacity (staffing and other allocated resources) to support enhancing the Supply Chain business performance in the mission.• Spearhead the Business Intelligence Unit workplan to ensure successful planning, organizing, execution, monitoring and control of the Mission’s Business Intelligence (BI) Programme of work; administer the implementation of agreement for BI support services; lead establishment and execution of BI Operating Model; manage development of BI demands or requirement; manage lifecycle of BI projects in alignment with UNSOS BI vision and strategy.

• Lead the performance reporting based on SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) metrics and mission specific KPIs in the mission. Evaluate operational, analytical and strategic reporting solutions. Evaluate data captured from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems modules and other relevant systems of record, suggest and validate solutions for improvements of Supply Chain processes. Design, validate mission-specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), dashboards for BI and ensure integration and automation of data flow to the designed SCM dashboards, in consultation with relevant sections/units as needed.

• Lead the Business Intelligence Unit in the development of recommendations, based on data analysis, and independent root cause analysis conducted with key stakeholders/business process owners. Ensure that timely and actionable information is produced which helps drive business results and guide decision making process for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain operations within the Mission. Devise, promote and evaluate analytic models and creative data visualization to derive actionable intelligence and enable senior management decisions.

• Develop, review, evaluate, of business rules, guidelines, standard operating procedures and other guidance materials based on the UN regulations and rules, international standards and recommended practices on supply chain management. Ensure the operationalization of Supply Chain management concepts, the implementation of instructions on Supply Chain Self-Assessment and Performance Reporting. Provide guidance and technical support in formulation of user requirements for IT systems in support of materials management and Supply Chain activities.

• Lead the execution of functions carried out within the Unit ensuring the smooth functioning of the Unit. Develop, monitor work plans ensuring the attainment of objectives and supervise staff. Evaluate capacity building requirements, coordinate training events.

• Ensure gathering of requirements from various stake holders and business process owners to define specific business requirements for the end-to-end Supply Chain Performance Management. Develop and promulgate Business Intelligence Guidance and Procedures, monitor and ensure compliance. Provide inputs for continuous improvement and innovation in the area of Supply Chain Performance Management. Provides guidance in implementing change initiatives.

• Ensure that all Supply Chain Management Service/Supply Chain Performance Management Section/Business Intelligence Unit activities are in compliance with the DPKO/DFS Environmental and Waste Management policies and in line with the DFS Environment Strategy objectives; coordinate with the mission’s environmental officer for guidance as needed.

• Perform other duties, as required.
