Job PurposeThe
role of Team Leader, Corporate Banking, is to build and maintain a
high-quality portfolio of Corporate clients. He/she is responsible for
understanding the needs of his/her clients and developing tailored
solutions to meet these needs using the Bank’s suite of products and
services targeted to the segment while ensuring compliance with the
Bank’s internal policies and regulatory. This role reports to the Head
of Commercial Banking and is supported by Relationship Managers and
Assistant

Key ResponsibilitiesTo
develop a detailed strategy for growing and maintaining a customer
portfolio that will ensure the delivery of the business targets in
accordance with the Department’s annual performance plans.
To
manage a portfolio of corporate banking customers, with accountability
for sales, service, risk and operational delivery. Acquisition of new to
bank customers is an important element of the role.
To
effectively execute all the agreed business development and growth
strategies in accordance with the long, medium and short term plans of
the Bank and as set by the Head of Commercial Banking. This will be done
through active portfolio management and development by maintaining
& growing existing income sources and meeting set targets for new
business.
To build a high-quality client portfolio by effectively managing clients across the entire financing cycle.
To
review and provide detailed input into the credit proposal prepared by
the Assistant Relationship Manager, noting that the Team Leader is
ultimately responsible for preparing a comprehensive, high-quality
credit proposal.
To Oversee fulfillment of all conditions
precedent to loan disbursement, and ensure that the Assistant
relationship mangers and relationship managers have obtained all the
relevant documentation.
To continuously assess risks associated
with the sector the client is in and inherent in the business, taking
account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory
requirements.
Ensure low portfolio at risk through monitoring,
follow up with customers and working with other departments within the
Bank to develop and implement recovery processes in case of defaults.

QualificationsBusiness
related University Degree, preferably with a major in Finance,
Marketing and/or Economics; from a recognized institution.
A postgraduate degree or professional qualification such as MBA, CPA, will be an added advantage.

ExperienceBusiness
graduate from an accredited university preferably with a major in
Finance, Marketing and/or Economics; a Post Graduate degree (MBA,
Masters in Finance / Strategy) is an added advantage.
At least
five (5) years experience in banking, with proven experience of at least
three (3) years in a similar position or at least 3 years banking
experience and sales/marketing background, where he/she managed a
portfolio of corporate or Business Banking clients.
Experience managing borrowing customers and analyzing financing proposals, especially for Corporate
Possess
Public Relationship skills in both formal and social gatherings and
ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with
those interacted with in the course of carrying out duties.
Must possess sound knowledge of Bank products
