Job briefWe are looking for an outstanding web designer with experience in Word Press to be responsible for the coding, maintenance, innovative design and layout of our Ponea websites. They should also posses UI/UX Design skills which can be used to turn our software into easy-to-use products for our clients.
Web developer responsibilities include building our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function.
UI/UX Designer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools. If you also have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and help us grow our customer base.
Requirements
BSC in Computer Science or a related field. Certification in Design tools will be
an added advantage.
Proven working experience in web programming and/or UI/UX Designer or similar role
In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Familiarity with WordPress, DJANGO, Theming Frameworks and Wp Theme Customization.
A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process
Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
Portfolio of design projects
Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Adobe XD, Wireframe.cc and InVision)
Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Responsibilities
Web Design
Apply best software development practices to design and maintain our website
Maintain the website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
Integrate data from various back-end services and databases if need be
Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
Create and maintain website design structure documentation
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
UI/UX Design
Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
Build page navigation buttons and search fields
Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like
Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)
Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key
stakeholders
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
Undertake usability tests, understand various user challenges and implement for design
change
