Our client, a dynamic Technology Start-up focused on providing insurance agents with a simple & responsive insurance management platform is looking to recruit a Back-End Java Developer.
He/she MUST have a solid background working with Microservices, the core development language is Java working with the spring-boot frameworks and passionate about agile methodologies. In the preliminary months of the employment contract, the successful candidate will not be working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Defining software requirements.
• Writing clean and efficient code for various applicants and running tests to improve system functionality.
• Implement and maintain Java components and frameworks throughout the software development life cycle.
• Analyze user and system requirements.
• Design flowcharts to illustrate software solutions.
• Write efficient code based on feature specifications.
• Develop user interfaces.
• Prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
• Design database architecture.
• Test and debug Java applications.
• Validate software functionality and security.
Qualification:
• BSc. In Computer Science, Engineering or IT.
• Proven hands-on Software Development experience.
• Proven working experience in Java development.
• Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc).
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Experience in the Spring Framework.
• Experience using JPA and Docker.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Must be an excellent communicator with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently.
• Agile and Scrum methodology and practice.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 150,000 /= (Approx. 1,389.53 USD)
Position level: Lower Mid-Level.
Job Type: Permanent Position.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya.
