Background
The Center for International Health, Education and
Biosecurity (CIHEB)-Kenya is a local non-governmental organization collaborating
with the Ministry of Health and County Health Management Teams to strengthen
health systems for improved quality of health care in Kenya. CIHEB-K is collaborating
with the University of Maryland, Baltimore CIHEB-Kenya, with funding from
Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Center for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to strengthen health systems for the
provision of HIV prevention and treatment services, roll-out case-based
surveillance systems and to support national vaccine preparedness and disease
prevention.

Primary Responsibilities:
The position shall be responsible for the roll-out of HIV case-based
surveillance (CBS) in designated facilities with paper-based systems through
capacity building of health care providers, data collection and collation in
adherence to national CBS guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide specialized training to sub-county and facility
health care providers on the national CBS
Conduct routine CBS data collection and collation
and submission to the national CBS platforms
Provide mentorship to facility teams including data
clerks and HTS providers to ensure proper capture of sentinel events in the
case reporting forms to enhance the quality of collected CBS information
Ensure that supported facilities have the
necessary supplies to support CBS activities including case reporting forms and
standard operating procedures
Conduct data quality assessments with strategic
action plans and share assessment findings for improvement in the quality of CBS
information.
Support data analysis, generating of reports and
presentation to the program to inform the program design and monitoring
Conduct quarterly data review meetings with
facility teams
Required Qualifications and Experience
Minimum qualification of Diploma in health
records and computer science or related field
Training in information technology
Experience in developing, revising, and training
on clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures
Good writing and communication skills
