Requirements for Appointment:For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D (Plain) or Division IV in Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE);Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education offered by KNEC /Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent;Certificate in Computer Applications;Registered by Teachers Service Commission (TSC); andValid certificate of Good Conduct from the DCI.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacilitating play/learning activities to enable children cope with primary school life;Identifying children with special needs;Ensuring safe custody of leaning resources;Caring and nurturing spiritual, moral, social, mental and physical growth of children;Preparing and maintaining professional records (schemes of work, lesson plans, attendance registers and daily programme of activities); andEnsuring children's cleanliness, welfare, health, nutrition, safety and security.
