Floating Preventative Maintenance Technician

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Floating PreventativeMaintenance Technicianin Washington, DC for Channel Square Apartments! This position will be primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance responsibilities for our Washington DC communities. Travel between sites will be required for this position.

Applicants who are qualified for this position have 3+ years prior apartment maintenance experience. HVAC & CFC certifications are a plus. Experience working with convector heat systems is strongly desired. Advanced plumbing experience and carpentry (fixing doors, latches, etc.) are a plus. Experience with appliance repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, drywall and painting are needed.

This position is responsible for primarily preventative maintenance matters related to general apartment maintenance. In addition to technical maintenance tickets, this position will assist with unit turnovers and be part of the after-hours on-call rotation. The Maintenance Technician directly reports to the Community Manager of each community. Hourly wage is dependent on experience and certification.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Energetic, self-motivated individual who is able to work as a team
Must have previous experience with apartment maintenance; appliance troubleshooting, plumbing, drywall, and painting
Advanced skill set in plumbing and carpentry is desired
HVAC/CFC Certification is preferred
Must be able to understand and oversee work performed by contractors
Must have a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
Must be able and willing to work weekends and be part of an on-call rotation
