Group Head Accountant For A Hospitality Company

Our client, is looking for a hands on Group Head Accountant for its property on the South Coast.The successful candidate will be responsible for all the day to day accounting and finance functions of the finance department and its staff of two divisions: Hospitality and Real Estate. You will have the expert ability in all areas of accounting and finance, commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management. Previous experience in Hospitality is a MUST!Key Responsibilities Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information on all the company business lines.With the GM and Directors prepare an Annual BudgetProvide various weekly reports of operations and department cost control performanceSummarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statementSubstantiate financial transactions by auditing and reviewing documentsMaintain and monitor accounting policies and systemsManage the accounting clerical staff by coordinating their activitiesVerify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions from the inventory and store controller.Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast processDirect internal and external audits to ensure complianceEnsure all Employee files are kept updated and in order. Track, monitor and manage the payrollSupport month-end and year-end close processDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsCommunicate effectively with clients on payments. Qualifications Fully qualified ACCA or CPA, or Holds a Bachelor's degree with part Qualified ACCA or CPA will be an added advantage.A minimum of 5 years experience at a senior management level (experience in the Hospitality Industry is an added advantage)Excellent Planning and Organizational skillsVery good at Problem Analysis and Problem-SolvingThe ability to work quickly and under pressureThe ability to manage a team and a varied workloadGood computer skillsExcellent communication SkillsFully conversant with current tax and finance legislation
