Head Of Accounting

Salary Currency: Kenyan Shilling
Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
Support the coordination of annual audits and assist Finance Controller with conducting .audits.
Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.
Implement accounting policies, procedures, regulations and standards for operation and control purposes.
Apply budgeted funds for operations and development as per budget allocation.
Interpreting and implementing financial regulations and procedures, Treasury circulars, letters and instructions;
Developing supplementary financial regulations and procedures to enhance internal controls.
Maintaining appropriate and up to date accounting records.
Preparing management and statutory reports which include monthly Expenditure returns, monthly bank reconciliations, revenue/AIA returns, Cash flow statements, analysis of deposits and final accounts;
Assisting in the Administration of the Accounting Department
Providing advisory services to the Accounting Officer and other stake holders on all financial and accounting matters in the Company
Development of supplementary financial regulations and procedures to enhance internal controls.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Should have worked in similar position for at least 5 Years
Must be a CPA (K) or ACCA Finalist.
Must have an audit background
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Solid Accounting Knowledge.
Solid Knowledge in Taxation and legal framework.
Able to thrive in a KPI and Target driven environment

Experience and skills
Proven experience as a senior accountant.
Excellent organizing abilities.
Great attention to detail.
Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP and Quick Books).
Excellent Communicator.
Responsible for providing technical and professional leadership in management accounting
