We are currently recruiting a Head of Department - Expressive Arts . She/he will be part of a community that develops young people of talent and potential from Mombasa to be the well-educated, ethical and pluralistic leaders of tomorrow.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and management of the Departmental unit across the school for the MYP, and DP programmes and communicate with the related areas in the Senior School.
The HOD Expressive Arts will act as an exemplary role model in subject teaching, professionalism, professional development and administration of the department. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing clear departmental goals consistent with school-wide goals and encourage the development of sound and shared pedagogy amongst the members of the department.
He/She will also be required to carry out continuous and well-documented appraisal of each member of the department and also demonstrate a knowledge and commitment to the development of Expressive Art related subjects in the curriculum, including the infusion of the AK Strands, Areas of Interaction and TOK designed at ensuring a rich and varied curriculum that favors cross-curricular understanding for enhanced and holistic learning.
The successful candidate should have minimum a Bachelor’s degree with professional teaching qualification and demonstrated interest in developing reflective practice and connections across disciplines. He/she should demonstrate ability to supervise and mentor faculty. A specialism in any expressive subjects including Music / Visual Arts /Drama /Theater is essential.
