Job Overview.
The IT Manager role is responsible for supporting all aspects of the IT systems and services including smooth running of computer systems, routers, switches and internet. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for ensuring the security and integrity of computer operations and systems development in accordance with the company’s strategic plan & IT plan, including a public, high traffic web site.
Your Roles and Responsibilities.
1. Provide first point of IT support contact for all EBRU’s staff.
2. Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
3. Assisting EBRU staff in case of a technical hitch while using the laptop over telephone, email or face to face.
4. Recreate, creatively design and update website as required.
5. Troubleshoot technical issues to resolution and/or escalate to supplier as required.
6. Ensure proper system and data security maintenance at high standard ensuring integrity of EBRU’s network to avoid compromise.
7. Log all incidents and service requests in EBRU’s designated system.
8. Demonstrate commitment to and promotion of quality service excellence and continual improvement within the IT department.
9. Provide technical assistance to production and news team whenever required.
10. Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with key suppliers, conducting dealings in a professional and appropriate manner.
11. Ability to comply with the company policies, mission, vision and values including integrating them in your role.
12. Document daily tasks and support sessions to support both the department and organisational needs.
13. Generating performance reports for operating systems.
14. Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
15. Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
16. Provide technical support for EBRU’s website maintenance, publication software, and maintaining company presentation standards.
Education/Experience: The ideal candidate will offer:
• BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar field
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and services.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
• Experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
• Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including Server, Office, and Exchange.
• Have strong management, communication and leadership skills.
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible working hours.
• Knowledge of systems engineering, computer maintenance, server administration, installation, repair and troubleshooting
• Large capacity for attention to detail.
• Must have knowledge on CSS, C, JavaScript and Python.
• Desirable strong web design knowledge.
• Should be patient and tolerant.
• Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of software licenses.
• Demonstrate high standards of professional behaviour in line with our values when dealing with suppliers, staff and clients.
