OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of managing a membership scheme by developing a long term membership strategy and evaluating and implementing changes to the membership structure as the needs of the organization and members demand.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in business development as well as a great team player. The successful candidate will be proactive, confident, an excellent communicator and with a business development mindset, who will relish this varied role, whilst being able to work under pressure and deal with competing priorities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Management
• Develop goals and action plans with the CEO for membership development and retention, including corporate sponsorships.
• Provide analysis of existing programmatic and membership materials as well as membership retention rates and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with the Training, Professional Services and Events department and develop and implement strategy for increasing non-dues revenue.
• Initiate internal communications, including developing newsletter content, email blasts, event announcements and awareness of member benefits.
• Develop regular mechanisms for providing excellent customer service to existing corporate and individual members, partners, sponsors and relationship building with prospective.
• Identify, recruit and provide member services and track benefits provided to them to ensure that all receive benefits offered.
• Assist in creating and updating membership and marketing materials, including letters, flyers for upcoming events, welcome packets, fact sheets, directories, surveys, and others to recruit new members.
• Develop membership retention strategies, targets and all renewal systems and communications by managing the delivery of campaigns designed to retain existing members.
• Implement financial reconciliation systems to ensure that Membership finance reporting of income is consistent.
Business Development
• Developing growth strategies and plans for membership.
• Arrange business meetings with prospective corporate members and clients to pursue business leads.
• Managing and retaining relationships with existing members and clients.
• Researching opportunities and viable income streams.
• Identify and map organization strengths, members’ needs and developing solutions to their needs.
• Promote the organization’s products/services addressing or predicting members’ values, clients’ objectives and developing solutions to meet their values and objectives.
• Drafting and reviewing contracts and MoU’s.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
This is a management level role suitable for an individual with experience in Business Development.

Essential
• Proven working experience of five years as a business development officer, sales executive or a relevant role.
• Experience of delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns and the ability to use digital marketing tools.
• Ability to analyze data and develop information into reports for wider dissemination or presentation.
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Comfortable managing a budget and able to plan and forecast effectively.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Stakeholder management skills
• Proven ability to negotiate.
• Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy.
• The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team.
• Experience working to and exceeding targets.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
