At work today in over 40countries and 22 cities, we restore safety, dignity, and hope to millionswho are uprooted and struggling to endure.Background:In partnership with the IKEAFoundation, the IRC and a network of local and global partners have developed aprogram – Refugees in East Africa: Boosting Urban Innovations for LivelihoodsDevelopment (Re:BUiLD) – that sets out to do just that. Re:BUiLD's vision isfor urban refugees and vulnerable host residents to achieve economicself-reliance and benefit from strengthened urban economic, regulatory andsocial environments. Re:BUiLD will strive to enable change at varying levels,from better access to livelihoods opportunities and inclusive services withincommunities, to improved refugee-related policies and more targeted andeffective service delivery from national, regional and global actors.Scope:Working under the directsupervision of the Senior MEAL Officer and technical guidance from the ProjectManager, the MEAL Officer will be based in IRC Urban Office in Nairobi, PanganiLivelihood Resource Centre. The MEAL Officer will work closely with all programstaff in the field to implement the IRC Re:BUiLD MEAL commitments and improveprogram quality through enhanced data management systems and processes.The MEAL Officer will beresponsible for owning the day-to-day MEAL issues arising in the Field Officeand providing technical support to field teams to ensure the effectiveimplementation of projects.Responsibilities:Provide direct support tomonitoring and evaluation processes of all the projects in the field site.Support projects to adhere to theIRC`s Monitoring and Evaluation standards.Take part in all data analysis andaction planning meetings organized by the project.Keep the database up to date andhelp program staff prepare periodic high-quality reports.Assess M&E technical capacityneeds in the field office, prepare and implement a capacity-building plan ondata collection, cleaning, analysis, presentation, and use with support fromthe Senior MEAL Officer.Provide support in Baseline,Endline Evaluations, Post Distribution Monitoring (PDMs), Satisfaction Surveysand Client feedback activities.Conduct regular data verificationand audit exercises to assess the quality of data reported and address anyanomalies identified.Maintain open and professionalrelations with other team members while promoting strong team spirit.QualificationsA Degree in Mathematics,Education, Statistics, Economics, Community Development, Project Management, orany business-related course.A strong dedication to the missionand values of International Rescue Committee.Excellent attention to detail andaccuracy in data collection and entry.Basic understanding of datacollection tools and mobile data collection systems, with a willingness tolearn.Strong communication skills toeffectively participate in discussions and interviews during qualitative datacollection.Ability to work collaboratively ina team and be guided by the M&E team lead.Proficiency in using technology,especially mobile devices, and data collection apps.Prior experience in datacollection, surveys, or related fields is a plus.Standards of ProfessionalConduct: The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principlesoutlined in IRC Way - Standards for Professional Conduct.
