Our client an International NGO is looking to recruit a Network Administrator to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with and assisting the Senior Network Administrator in administration, managing, maintenance and monitoring of ICT Networks and Infrastructure. He/she MUST have a minimum of 2 years in deploying, configuring, maintaining and monitoring network equipment & ensure smooth network operation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Achieve and maintains a thorough knowledge and adherence to established Organisation policies and procedures regarding ICT systems management.
• Manage and monitor IT physical layer infrastructure and ensure the highest performance and reliability.
• Maintain and monitor the communication infrastructure and ensure the highest performance and reliability.
• Resolve infrastructure request escalated from the service desk.
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
• Collaborate and support the site and sub-offices IT staff, in their task and various projects.
• Travel to remote locations for equipment and network support.
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
Qualification:
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field.
• Advanced training in network administration or security training will be a distinct advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in networking, routing and switching.
• Experience in managing IT project will be preferred.
• Strong working knowledge with Cisco managed devices i.e. Firewalls, Routers and Switches.
• Strong knowledge and working experience with administration of database systems especially MS SQL Server.
• Must have strong knowledge in system security in a large network environment.
• Thorough knowledge of TCP / IP Architecture and OSI model.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving in windows based environment.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
Monthly gross salary: Open depending on individual skills, qualification and experience.
Position level: Lower Mid-Level.
Job Type: Permanent.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya.
