Details of the offer

The Regional Bureau in Nairobi (RBN) provides strategic guidance, policy/technical support and direction to WFP operations and activities in nine countries: Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in the university and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies; currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master's degree) from a recognized university; or have graduated from a university undergraduate or graduate programme within the last 6 months preferably inGeographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management or other related fields.
Full proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Fluent in English (both oral and written) is a must; knowledge of a second UN language, preferably French, would be an asset

JOB PURPOSE
Support nutrition data mining and collection procedures and ensure data quality and integrity
Interpret and analyse data problems, support in planning and prioritizing data projects
Support in building analytic systems and predictive models
Test performance of data-driven products and visualize data and create reports
Experiment with new models and techniques and align data projects with organizational goals

KNOWLEDGE OF SYSTEMS
Python, R or any other programming language
ESRI Product suite, QGIS Suite
Proficient in SPPS/Stata or any other advanced data analysis softwares
Mobile Data collection tools: Collector for ArcGIS, ODK

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
What you will do:
Support in writing computer programme analytics languages for SCOPE CODA data analysis
Collecting large amounts of data and analyzing it
Using data-driven techniques for solving complex nutrition business problems
Communicating the results to business and IT leader

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (continued)
Spotting trends, patterns, and relationships within data
Converting data into compelling visualizations
Working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques
Deploying text analytics and data preparation

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP depending on the duty station of assignment (i.e. Nairobi)
WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs
WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education
