THE JOB
- We are looking for a skilled, committed and self driven individual to fill the position of Operational Excellence Coach.
- This position will be based in Naivasha Region – Kingfisher farm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager the incumbent will carry out the following responsibilities:-
- Planning, developing and implementing a coaching strategy aligned to the project goals.
- Delivering best practice consistently within operations.
- Capacity builder – capable of bringing production managers along the journey through awareness
- Practical / in the field coaching skills on:
- Setting an agenda and running a meeting or training to it
- Coach changes in problem solving techniques – continuous improvement tools.
- Structured approach to problem solving
- Build up team resilience to problems, by changing attitude, and developing problem solving skills, coaching the ability to adapt and innovate.
- Change the culture so teams want to solve problems, and see problems as opportunities for improvement.
- Give corrective feedback.
- Understanding the value in failure through learning.
- Leading from the side.
- Understanding of work standards and process confirmation.
- Building quality into the core processes.
- Develop good habits and basic skills through deliberate repeated practice until it becomes ‘the way we work’
- Coach vigilance in deviations from the standard method.
- Ensuring that the customer is always put first in all thinking.
- Ability to develop 5S for new environments.
- Working with top down on non-negotiables requirements.
- Working with bottom up on collaborative solutions.
- White board development for performance measurement.
- Assisting with developing analysis and reporting tools to support management and confirm achievement of goals.
- Assist in development of KPI’s and incentives.
Innovation:
- Stay up to speed with industry development and bring forward proposals for discussion.
- Contributing to the management of the company and promoting a culture which enables people to think.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Degree in any Agriculture related field from a recognized institution.
- Exposure in lean manufacturing with a minimum of 3 years experience.
- Self – starter Excellent interpersonal skills
- Willingness to experiment and learn
- Lean “Know –how” Kaizen training
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have valid Police Clearance Certificate.
- Be a team player Self disciplined
