MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo support the implementation of comprehensive school health and child sponsorship activities in targeted project schools. The Project Assistant will report to the Project Officer and work closely with other team members.SCOPE OF JOBInternal ReportsProject InternsExternal LiasionsTeachers, school administrator, County and National Government education officials. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFundraising through the child sponsorship modelPlan and implement recruitment of pupils into the Little Ambassador modelConduct photo updates for 2,000 pupils in the child sponsorship modelProcess all child sponsorship requests from the donor officeSchool Health promotion in targeted schoolsSupport behaviour change interventions in targeted schoolsCreate and implement a Life Skills program on Problem Solving for young adolescentsSeek innovative behaviour change strategies as per the WHEEL project modelSupport in the mapping of WASH school needsWork closely with school leadership structures to ensure project sustainabilityMonitoring & EvaluationConduct needs assessment and support selection of beneficiary schools targeted with WASH outputsSupport in the development of quarterly and annual reportsSupport development of concept and research papersCommunity MobilizationEngage communities for project implementation successSupport training of community groupsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation; Knowledge and skillsBachelors of Arts in Sociology, Social Work, Medical Sociology or Anthropology and/or Bachelor of Science in Public Health1 to 2 years of experience in community development work in Coast regionMinimum of 1-3 years' experience in riding an off-road motorbikeExcellent writing and oral communication skillsGood child-focused communication and engagement skillsProficient knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)CompetenciesAttention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all workExcellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesSelf-driven professional
