The RoleConnected Diagnostics projects aim to enhance the use of effective digital diagnostic tools to ensure better healthcare outcomes for patients and inform policy makers with semi-real time data. The project focuses on creating a digital ecosystem by a network of healthcare providers in Kisumu County and by digitalizing low-cost rapid diagnostic tests in the community, such as clinics, community healthcare workers and chemists. The primary goal is to support the Kisumu Department of Health by connecting both public and private healthcare facilities and providing digital support to key players involved in healthcare treatment decisions and outcomes, including patients, payers, doctors, lab staff, and policy makers.Reporting lines:The Western Kenya Project Manager (PM) will report to the Western Kenya Lead. The position is based in Kisumu.Roles and responsibilities:The responsibility of the PM is to manage the PharmAccess Connected Diagnostics Projects.OperationalSupervising the day-to-day operations of the projects to ensure that the key deliverables are met within the set timeframes:Developing and implementing workplansSupporting the teams to facilitate timely implementation and ensuring deliverables are met by collaborating with field teams, data team, research team.Conducting and reporting on field visitsCo-ordinating and assisting with facilitating in trainings in collaboration with Kisumu countySupporting and supervising timely submission of quality data entries by healthcare providers, community health promoters and chemists, support data analysis and dissemination, propose dashboard improvementsActively participating in internal strategic meetings, weekly and biweekly meetingsPro actively report on barriers and opportunities for requisite actionsSupporting the financial implementation of the project, including preparing the budget, payment processing, budget implementation and budget reporting according to organizational and donor requirementsSupporting and ensuring timely reporting within the organization and as per the required donor guidelinesAssisting with briefs and presentations in relation the the projectDocumenting successes, lessons learned in the implementation of the projectsCo-ordinating and supporting research activities in relation to the projects which includes ensuring ethical approvals are obtained.Stakeholder engagementMaintaining excellent working relationships with partners including county Government, KEMRI, universities, donors and other project partnersIdentifying potential stakeholders and actively reach out for engagementActively responding to stakeholder inquiries and requestsAttending key stakeholder meetings locally and internationally and presenting insights when requestedCo-ordinating and facilitating periodic partnership review meetingsEnsuring timely and periodic updates to the County Government, project partners and other key stakeholdersSpecific operational responsibility in relation to the implementation of the USAID PMI project: "Expansion of malaria case management activities in the private sector":Work with USAID PMI, FHM Engage and NMCP to align on activity implementation and deliverablesAttend the USAID PMI meetings to align on project mandate and, deliverables and lead project kick off activities including stakeholders sensitizationSupport set up of a data collection infrastructure including the digitization of an automatic incentive system on a payment platformIdentify, train and connect providers, chemists, and CHPs on the Health Pulse appSupport to finalize the research protocol and co-ordinate obtaining ethical clearance of researchAttend USAID PMI Implementing partners events and provide progress update reports based on the milestones.Support project monitoring and evaluation activitiesProcess monthly payments for field teams for project logistics and incentivesProfile:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a healthcare discipline; a master's degree is an added advantageMinimum 5 years' experience in Kenya's Public and Private Healthcare space including workexperience with county health system operationsSenior role experience in project management that include project planning, design, implementation, and financial managementHe/she must be a team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a multi cultural environmentOpen minded, self motivated personality, proactiveDemonstrated ability to deliver successful complex project implementationsAnalytical skills in planning and budget reviewExcellent communication and presentation skills, ability to communicate at all levels of health spectrumExcellent problem-solving skills,Ability to work with Excell, Word and PowerPoint.
