Qualitative Research Assistant At Kenya Medical Research - Kemri

Key Responsibilities:Develop an in-depth understanding of study design and goals, and ensure that the study is conducted in compliance with study protocols and other regulatory requirements.Identify and mobilize eligible participants for the interviews and FGDsWork closely with the study coordinators to prepare weekly interview and FGD schedulesConduct qualitative interviews among participantsAssist in transcription and translation of the collected dataProvide regular progress reports to the study coordinatorsEnsure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activitiesParticipate in regular research team meetingsRespond to questions about the study posed by participants and any other relevant personsOther duties as assigned by the Study CoordinatorVacancy Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Public health or Social-Science-related field.Knowledge in facility and community entry strategiesKnowledge in interviewing health workers and managerKnowledge in cleaning and coding, developing codebooksKnowledge working with Dedoose softwareKnowledge in tobacco cessation projectsCommitment to integrity and high-quality performanceAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in both English and SwahiliGood interpersonal skills and ability to work in a teamKeen and attentive to detailAbility to follow instructions and proceduresAbility to work well under pressure with minimal supervisionFlexibility to travel and interview participants at a time and place of their convenience
