Search for Common Ground ("Search") is hiring an Officer, People & Culture (P&C) to join the MENA Regional Team and support the development of our programs in the Region. Reporting to the Regional P&C Business Partner, the incumbent will contribute to the day-to-day P&C activities at the Regional level, with more than 30% of time dedicated to recruitments in the region. The P&C Officer will also pursue the overall global P&C agenda and support Country office P&C activities. From time to time, s/he may be called to replace the Regional P&C Business Partner or provide additional support to Country P&C Teams when required. Team Summary:The People & Culture team is responsible for the management and development of employees in an organization and providing oversight for functions related to managing an organization's People. These functions include Recruitment, Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Employment Regulations, Compensation, Benefits, and P&C Information Systems (PCIS). Within these functional areas, Search's P&C team is focused on aligning work with organizational purpose; recruiting the best talent aligned with organizational values, understanding what candidates and employees do best and align strengths with work roles, and support alignment of employee achievements with Search's objectives to support the organizational building of success and sustainabilityResponsibilities:Uphold compliance with Search for Common Ground's and donor regulations, policies, and standards, ensuring confidentiality in all P&C matters.Maintain an up-to-date understanding of organizational policies, procedures, standards, and local labor laws, contributing to continuous improvement in P&C practices.Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data for analysis and reporting purposes, implementing quality control measures.Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support P&C initiatives effectively.Contributions:Be a champion of Search recruitment standards and process to support and guide hiring managers.Support the recruitment process for the Regional office, International recruitments and key roles in countries in coordination with the hiring team and the relevant P&C point of contactBe aware of Regional trends, tools, platforms to improve Search recruitment activities in the RegionEnsure compliance with local regulations and Search policiesActively participate in the onboarding process for new hires in the Regional office, International roles and key roles in countries.Support P&C Operations in the Regional team and in country, in coordination with the Regional P&CBP and local P&C .Support the development and implementation of P&C Projects and activities, including Recruitment, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, PCIS, Compensation & Benefits.Provide technical assistance to the Country P&C focal person in rolling out global policies, implementing P&C standards and in revision of national P&C policies aligned to Search policies and procedures.Be a Champion of Ethics to support the Regional Team and the local teams, notably related to the Code of Conduct.Build and maintain relationship and coordination mechanism with other iNGOs working in the region.Support the rollout and implementation of Search's Safeguarding policy by working closely with the Sr Manager, Internal Policy and compliance, reviewing the training material, and participate in the regular meetings.Support Compensation and Benefits processes for the Regional Team and international team members in the region.Partially cover the Regional P&CBP or Local P&C staff during their absence.Other duties that are broadly in line with the all the above key contributions as assigned.Competency Behavior Indicators (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Initiates brainstorming or problem-solving meetings. Carefully reviews and checks the accuracy of information in work reports, management information systems, or with other individuals and groups. Checks the accuracy of one's own and others' work. Proactively informs management of potential risks and concerns; suggests resolutions.Independently prioritizes time to reach deadlines and reaches end results of assignments with ability to accomplish multiple steps with limited to no supervision.Familiarity with Labor Law, Social Security regulations, and P&C best practices in Jordan is required. Candidates with a demonstrated knowledge of local labor law in more than one MENA countries (Lebanon, Iraq, Jerusalem and Yemen) are highly desirable.Remain alert and responsive to any safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding Policy.Type and Nature of ContactsRoutinely coordinates with colleagues and consultants on-site and in the field and resolves problem situations with tact.
