Job Overview We are looking for a competent Security Officer to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behaviour and preventing vandalism, theft or other criminal behaviour. For you to be successful, you need to be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company maintain excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for monitoring the electronic system and undertaking any duties as may be assigned by the Security manager and the supervisor or HOH Supervise and lead the CONTRACTED team and regularly attend morning/evening briefs Monitor banking and if necessary, accompany cashiers to the safe drop and ensure all revue are properly sealed and dropped off in the safe Conduct regular house patrols take NOTE of any safety hazards or security risks and escalate as necessary Participate in BRAND LED activities and represent the department as may be required. Conduct Safety and Security audits as may be assigned by line authorities Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation Provide assistance to people in need Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to the legal protocol before the arrival of authorities Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences Requirements, Skills & Abilities Proven experience as a Security Officer Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety Familiarity with report writing Excellent surveillance and observation skills Tech-savvy with experience in surveillance systems Trained in First Aid & Fire Safety Basic training in investigation and crime scene management Managing a guard force and other groups of persons Ability to make KEY decisions and take full responsibility for the same Diploma/ Degree in Security related discipline Proven experience in handling security operations either in corporate/public enterprise Powered by JazzHR
