Position DescriptionSenior Instructor – Military Training Summary:Location: Ghana, West Africa The Senior Instructor is responsible for curriculum development, training, and mentorship implementation. The Senior Instructor will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring, and summarizing progress of the training projects, setting, and following budgets, making HR decisions, and other project management-related tasks. The Senior Instructor will be based in West Africa and will be required to travel to remote sites throughout the region.The Senior Trainer shall report to the Project Manager and serve as the Contractor's lead on curriculum development and training implementation.Senior Trainer(s) should possess relevant subject matter expertise to instruct Technicians on one/multiple topics including: - Basic Machinery. - Environmental Responsibility and Hull Preservation. - Basic Marine Electrician Skills. o Basic Electronics Maintenance. - Basic Information Technology Maintenance. - Technical Operators' Training. - Human rights and the Law of Armed ConflictPosition Requirements Senior Trainer must possess a minimum of two years of directly related experience training foreign military personnel. Senior Trainer must possess at least five years of military experience as a senior maritimemaintenance technician or engineer (E-8 or above), with a demonstrated focus on the training area on which they will focus. Senior trainer must possess a minimum two years serving overseas in a military or contract role. Senior trainer must possess a minimum one year of directly related experience developing POI or course curricula. Senior trainer must be a native English speaker or DLPT 3/3 (or ILR equivalent). Candidate must have excellent supervisory, organizational, and training skills, skill in project development and execution, skill in coordinating activities, evaluating data, and establishing priorities. Excellent communication in both written and verbal English is necessary, and must be proficient in Word, MS Office suite of programs.Candidate must be able to analyze problems and make well-reasoned, sound decisions. Candidate must be highly capable of interacting confidently with senior management and customers. Candidate should have management experience with and a demonstrated history of managing direct reports within a large organization.
