Key Duties and responsibilities:Teach postgraduate and or undergraduate students in the specific areas of specialization through design and delivery of high-quality engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops ensuring that course objectives are metSupervise postgraduate research: projects, dissertations, and thesis.Assess students' overall performance and gauge the effectiveness of teaching and learning; through setting, moderating and marking program work. i.e. practical sessions and examinations and provide appropriate feedback to students.Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Law curriculum, incorporating contemporary legal issues and developments to reflect current industry trends and academic standardsProvide academic guidance and mentorship to studentsConducting independent and collaborative research in one's area of expertise, publishing and disseminating research results through publications, conferences and workshops to create and enhance knowledgeCollaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of teaching and research within the department and support other program leaders to manage the ongoing strategic development and implementation of academic programsCreating, maintaining and expanding linkages with industry practitioners, professional organizations to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students.Identify sources of funding and grants to support research initiatives or scholarly projectsPerform any other duties as may be assigned from time to timeQualificationEducational Qualifications and ExperienceMust have:An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification from an accredited University ORMaster's Degree in Law from an Accredited UniversitAt Least 7 Years of Teaching at a University, 4 of which should be as a LecturerMust have Registered for PhD in Law.At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University Level as a LecturerAccumulated at least 32 Publication points as a Lecturer of which 24 should be from refereed scholarly Journals.Successfully supervised at least 3 postgraduate students to completion.Evidence of presentation of Research at conferences and/or organize Conferences /Seminars and workshopsEvidence of attracting research funds and grants to support research initiatives or scholarly projects will be an added advantageRegistered with the relevant professional body.
