A bit about the role:
The Site Manager is responsible for planning, defining and managing projects. S/he will work with a team of designers, QS and Project Manager to manage the execution of a project. The Site Manager will directly manage subcontractors and fundis, procedures and processes, and materials on site, ensuring that the client is highly satisfied with the execution, quality, and speed of closing the project. The Site Manager will report to the Project Manager and give daily updates on the progress vis-a-vis overall schedule.
A bit about you:
You need to have a strong background in construction and site management, especially interior design build-outs and fit-outs. You should be good at planning/scheduling the works and supervising skilled/semi-skilled fundis. You must be meticulous and organized with good attention to detail and smart quality finishing. This position will require a self-motivated jack/jill-of-all-trades and will work across multiple parts of the business. It will require you to roll-up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in order to ultimately get things done.

Responsibilities

Create and control the program of works

Efficient resource planning, keeping other ongoing and upcoming projects in mind

Enforce health and safety regulations on site

Manage resources (staff/materials) on site

Clear communication with project manager

Keep track of issues, variations, requests and changes in design and action them

Quality control on a continuous

SPOC (Single point of contact) on construction site

Help quantity surveyor with take-offs and quotations

Help project manager with program of works and regulations

Keep track of registration of workers

Successful candidates will have all or most of these qualifications:
Experience managing/coordinating works on large and small construction sites

Experience with reading drawings and details

Competent fluency in spoken English and Kiswahili

Proven people management skills

Strong communication skills
