Technical Plant Manager

Objectives of the Role: The Technical Plant Manager oversees the entire manufacturing process of resin-based products, ensuring quality control, efficient production, and adherence to safety regulations. This role aims to optimize production processes, drive innovation through R&D projects, and maintain a competitive edge in the market. Responsibilities: Guide raw material procurement strategies to optimize costs while ensuring quality standards. Enforce rigorous quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products. Manage production processes, ensuring smooth operations, training, and compliance with quality, reliability, flexibility, and on-time delivery targets. Oversee all R&D projects based on customer demands and market needs. Maintain and optimize machinery functionality, ensuring efficient operations and timely maintenance. Drive sales volumes and introduce new technologies relevant to the African market. Contribute to major management decisions and support the business's growth strategies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. Minimum 8 years of proven experience as a Production/Technical Manager in resin manufacturing or paint industry. Deep understanding of production and technical management. Proficient in quality standards, health & safety regulations, and performance evaluation. Experience in reporting key production metrics and budgeting concepts. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Exceptional attention to detail, decision-making ability, and results-driven approach. Preferred Skills: Experience with SCADA reports and reactor monitoring. Familiarity with Working Safely guidelines, Kaizen/DWM activities, and Training Within Industry (TWI). Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and conduct application testing for product development.
