We are looking to hire an experienced Assistant Sales Manager (Retail Business) to help drive company sales. In this position, you will be involved in developing marketing strategies, implementing marketing plans, developing sales strategies, maintaining customer relations, and creating sales reports. To ensure success in the role, you should have strong knowledge of modern sales as well as marketing techniques, a passion for sales, and excellent communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch Assistant Sales Manager creates strategies that align with modern consumer trends.

Job Description

Reports to:Manager, Business Development
Location:Nairobi

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain strong working relationship with field support and client services.
• Develop performance metrics to build, deliver, report and track mechanism.
• Establish strong relationships with internal departments and contacts.
• Start and scale sales and support teams.
• Own all plans and strategies for achieving the company’s sales goals.
• Assists in the development of the sales plan and provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.
• Prepare forecasts reporting for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning.
• Build process and funnel for manual top-down reach, onboarding, activation, and expansion.
• Provide input to product road maps with the business development and marketing teams and be key driver of customer feedback.
• Direct and supervise sales staff to ensure they meet set objectives
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate should have:
• Education and Training: A Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, business studies, or in a similar field. Experience in retail sales and customer service is also required for this position.
• Organizational Skills: able to coordinate sales operations across a retail chain.
• Accounting Skills: well versed in reviewing and evaluating sales records and financial statements.
• Communication Skills: proficient in interacting with store managers and retail staff to communicate information relevant to sales
• Highly self-motivated and ambitious in achieving goals.
• Should possess the skill to work both in team and also perform independently.
• Should be capable of thriving in the competitive markets.
• Have a passion for sales and have the ability to create strategies that align with modern customer trends.
• At least 5 years working experience in the Pensions Industry.
• Competent IT skills
• In addition to the above, the ideal candidate should possess:
o Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
o Good leadership skills with a high sense of maturity
o Good planning, organizational, analytical and numerical skills
o High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality
o High sense of self-drive and business acumen
o Networking skills (internal and external)
