Job Summary

Malaha Community Health Empowerment and Learning programme is a organisation based in Western Kenya implementing humanitarian project on health (curative and preventive), economic empowerment and learning programmes. MACOHELP now has open vacancies for Grants and Proposal writing and communications and Public Health Internship

Job Description/Requirements

Grants and Proposals Writing Intern
The (GPW)intern will work closely with other organisational staff in designing and developing quality and timely grants proposals for the organisation. The intern will also actively participate in literature review of existing data and information on the subject matter and ensure that data and information is timely available for proposals writing if and whenever this is required.

Communications intern
The intern work with other organisational staff to document and share widely (through photos, videos, success stories and case studies) the activities that the organisation is carrying out in the communities. This will be mainly though online and other platforms. The intern is expected to facilitate innovative avenues of documenting designing and sharing of the collected media information.

Public Health Intern
the intern will liase with the medical staff to facilitate the preventive health actions for the organisations. The intern will be instrumental in health information dissemination both at the health facility and the community level. The intern is expected to be core part of organisational medical outreach response team

Qualifications
** Must have graduated either in 2018, 2019 or 2020 with a relevant Bachelors degree to the position (BA in English literature, Sociology or Anthropology or Community development for GPW intern, Public health or environmental health for public health intern and Mass Communication or Media studies for Communications Intern). Diploma holders with Sound understanding of the subject matter are also encouraged to apply.
** The communications intern must have technical skills in Photo and Video editing and reporting designing applications.
** Must be willing to reside and work in western Kenya.
** Must have excellent command of English language.
** Should be able to set and deliver goals and targets with completely no supervision.
** Should be self driven, focused, visionary and ambitious.
** Must me conversant with use of computers and basic understanding of information technology.
** Must be willing to work long hours with minimal supervision.
**Must be conversant of communication platforms including Teams*, Zoom*, Skype
** Not more than 26 years of age.
