Manager, East Africa Fellows Program Manager

Since 2012 Acumen East Africa has supported 153 Fellows and each year we recruit up to 20 new Fellows from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and South Sudan. Based in Nairobi, the Manager role will report to the Head of Leadership and Strategic Partnerships and have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Program Recruiting:
Develop and execute East Africa’s 2021 recruitment strategy

Cultivate, secure and manage application reviewers

Design and manage a recruiting database that collates each applicants details throughout the application process

Program Management:

Design and execute logistics for the Fellows seminars and online learning

Collaborate with global teams to improve existing logistics and Fellows engagement strategy both in-person and online

Liaising with Fellows and trainers between seminars and preparing all training materials

Monitoring budget and program expenses

Processing all Fellows related payments

In some cases co-facilitating training activities

Program Reporting

Track data and stories on 2020 Fellows progress and create reports, newsletter and blogs to share updates on their progress

Support in the writing of the Fellows program grant reports

Event Production

Manage the logistics of Acumen East Africa Fellows events from transportation to event bookings and seminar venues

Manage all event vendors

Manage accommodation bookings for all events

Coordinate the invite/attendee list (in collaboration with team)

Coordinate event volunteers and day-of setup and breakdown

Collaborate with global team on standardized event planning, production, and analysis

Collaborate with Comms to ensure coordination and marketing of all events

Attending week long (Monday to Saturday) seminars four times a year

Fellows Resource Building

Identify the various resources and connections Acumen, as well as Acumen’s community can offer to Fellows

Identify and set up strategic partnerships with other companies and organizations that would benefit Acumen’s Fellows
Job Requirements
Required education
: Bachelor's degree

Required relevant work experience
: 7 years

Required languages:
English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
