In charge of the management of the Fuel Retail Network for our Eastern African affiliates (Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda and any other country of East Africa coming on scope). You support and mentor Retail Managers and NFR Managers from affiliates to meet group targets regarding network operational excellence and P&L targets.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Management or Finance with previous experience in construction or retail sales
Familiar with the use of financial modeling tools
5 Years’ experience in Fuel Retail Network management and / or development in East Africa.
Job based in East Africa with 30% travelling time
Fluent in English (both speaking and writing).
Hands-on, excellent communication skills, energetic, organized, team player with proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and multitask effectively, work independently and possess the ability to make recommendations.
Proficient with Microsoft software applications required.
Responsibilities
RETAIL SALES AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENTTo focus on Sales, Operations and Marketing to deliver the aspired Budget; ensuring that strategy, network, marketing, etc., are managed in the appropriate way, which supports the achievement of short and long term objectives
Develop regional sales and operations programs to support each affiliate’s Retail Manager for sales driving through PUSH and PULL activities at stations.
Monitor and define in conjunction with affiliates, the relevant operating model for the stations (COCO, CODO) and set level of margin to remain profitable.
Monitor and take ownership of the performance of each site and country against budget and follow up on improvement measures
Define and implement customer related initiatives
Drive operational excellence agenda across the region
Define relevant KPIs to measure financial and non-financial performances
Monitor competition and assist in aligning the company offer
Drive the enrollment of B2C related HSSEQ programs across the region
Communication of monthly KPI’s to Headquarters regarding Retail Operations
NON FUEL RETAILING ACTIVITIES
In conjunction with the relevant Regional NFR Manager, Support Affiliate’s NFR managers and Retail teams to increase NFR revenue in the portfolio.
MARKETING AND BRAND MANAGEMENT
Be the custodian of the Company Brand across the region
In conjunction with Group marketing Manager, define programs to reinforce the pull activities across the network
From time to time, drive the execution of brand awareness and brand preference surveys and define relevant action plans to improve overall brand awareness.
Ensure the Retail outlets of the Company remain branded as per group standards.
