About the role:
Do you enjoy discovering and describing new flavors? Are you curious about new foods and always interested in trying new things? We are looking for anagile Sales Managerwith a good pallet to join our Nairobi office to bring new business and maintain existing business in East Africa. This is a unique opportunity to join a small and fast-paced team where you will report directly to the East Africa Director and will be working hands-on with the OSF team, partners and clients.
Responsibilities
• Follow up with key contacts and develop new business across the East Africa region
• Continuously expand OSF network regionally
• Monitor the market and its evolution in East Africa
• Support formulation of selected flavors and end-products
• Test and develop all types of food products
• Ensure current and prospective customers receive an outstanding level of service
• Support our customers, their innovations and the R&D process to maximize their product success
• Follow current stock levels and anticipate the future needs of the clients
• Work jointly with the OSF Laboratory in Kenya and France as well as the client/prospect R&D team to close sales
• Keep track of all your activities in CRM will be a key part of your route to success
• Provide weekly sales plans and reports
• Motivate and work with partners to achieve your targets
• Monitor and control expenses
To thrive in the role, you will need to be proactive, curious and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements, You have:
• A university degree in Science/Food Technology/Engineering/Business with at least 5 years of work experience
• A thorough knowledge of the food industry and manufacturing processes
• Worked at a top food manufacturer in supply chain, procurement, or production
• Past experience in product development
• Worked for a B2B food ingredients or machinery supplier either as an Account Manager or in B2B Sales
• Prior experience in the food flavor industry is an added advantage
• Great negotiation skills
• Sourced and closed deals independently with minimum supervision
• A diverse background and can deal with various cultures
• Existing high-level contacts in the food industry
• Good taste pallet and ability to describe different flavors
• Excellent command of English and knowledge of French is an advantage
