Years of Experience (minimum)
5+ years’ experience in leadership, preferably in the area of workforce development, professional or academic development, human resource management or a comparable field
Proven experience in the setting up of an effective Training Department in high pressure and very dynamic environment
Proven experience in setting up a Training Academy.
Additional Knowledge and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Education or another relevant field
Tech-savvy with a track record of managing online Learning Management Systems
Self-starter with a “can do and will do” attitude
Ability to understand organization demographics and act on these to ensure delivery of learning that meets a variety of needs and styles
Learning Delivery Methodologies: Understanding of and experience with various learning delivery methodologies and their accepted use
Learning Evaluation: Knowledge of and experience with measuring the impact of learning initiatives and their business results
Planning; Tactical & Strategic: Ability to contribute to the planning of initiatives that have both short-term, tactical impact, while also moving the organization forward toward long term strategic goals
Learning Needs Analysis: Ability to understand a business or performance gap and whether the gap is caused by a learning need. If there is a learning need, the ability to articulate what learning initiatives may impact that need
Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
Oversee and be accountable for all activities of the Training Department.
Review existing training programs and materials; drive enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, continued performance of employee and organization performance, and mobility of team members across the organization.
Develop and implement both informal and formal learning solutions to meet organizational needs, selecting the most appropriate strategies, methodologies, and technologies to maximize the learning experience and impact.
Create one central online environment in which our institutional learning can be created, curated and delivered.
Explore and implement programs that impact learners at various stages of the learning cycle such as the introduction of new concepts, on-the-job experience and post-learning event performance support.
Apply a data-driven approach to measuring the effectiveness of training programs, establishing key metrics and continuously iterating to improve results.
Partner with business leaders to coordinate training needs and implementation of multiple training initiatives.
Lead the design, development and implementation of individual career development plans towards both personal and career growth.
Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, ensuring our strategies exceed the changing demand of the industry.
Ensure compliance with all Government regulations that govern Employee and Organization Development.
